‘The ABWB Venues committee have set up Wedding Venues Support Group, a special purpose Members company, to take further advice from Michelmores and Jonathan Kirk QC., the leading Consumer Law silk, star rated and the only Tier 1 Q.C. in his field.We want a categoric understanding of the fair application of the CRA to wedding contract refunds. The CMA advice is Guidance, not law. It is unbalanced as between Insurers, Couples and Venues. Authoritative clarification of the underlying Law is essential for all involved with weddings, Couples, Venues, other suppliers and Insurers.That is our aim and we will shortly be setting out our strategy in detail. We will appeal for funds from venues who wish to share the advice and legal defence against unfair claims.
