Why you might want wedding insurance

• Cancellation by your venue due to damage caused by floods, or fire or bankruptcy or going into liquidation.

• Cancellation due to illness, accident or death of a member of the wedding party or close family members (you may need to check that a pre-existing medical conditions are covered).

• Cancellation due to extreme weather making it impossible for you and your guests to get to the venue.

• Supplier no-show and the costs incurred of arranging alternatives (make sure you have a written agreement when booking).

• Lost, stolen or damaged items; wedding rings, cake, flowers, outfits or gifts.

• Wedding photograph or video technical fault preventing final prints being produced.

• Personal liability and legal action. A big one for your venue and will cover you if accidental damage is caused to the venue or a third party is accidentally injured on the day. You may need to check whether guests are covered by your policy.
